Sovine Construction Project Completion - February 2025, Daphne, AL (Baldwin County)

At Sovine Construction, we take pride in bringing our clients’ visions to life. This particular project, completed in February 2025 in Daphne, AL, was a full-scale bathroom remodel tailored to meet the client’s specific needs and aesthetic preferences.

Project Scope & Initial Steps

The client’s plan called for a complete transformation, including:

• Removing a dividing wall

• Replacing the existing shower

• Relocating the toilet by 12 inches

• Adding a window in the shower for natural light

To begin, we ensured the worksite was contained by installing a Zip-Wall Door System, preventing dust and debris from spreading throughout the home. Once sealed off, our team proceeded with demolition, removing the existing shower, toilet, vanity, and all other bathroom fixtures, creating a clean slate for the renovation.

Electrical & Plumbing Work

Once the space was cleared, we brought in G&H Electrical to handle necessary rewiring. Their work involved:

• Relocating several switches and outlets

• Installing additional lighting for a brighter and more functional space

After the electrical rough-in was complete, we repaired and refinished the drywall before cutting and installing the new shower window.

Next, we collaborated with a local plumbing expert to:

• Move and reroute drain lines for the new Americast tub by American Standard (a high-quality steel tub with a composite and porcelain coating)

• Adjust water and drainage lines for the new vanity

• Relocate the toilet drain to its new position

Tile & Finishing Details

For waterproofing, we installed the Schluter-Kerdi System on the shower walls, ensuring long-lasting durability. The shower was finished with elegant white veined tile extending to the ceiling, creating a luxurious and timeless look. The bathroom floor was upgraded with gray tile, providing a modern contrast and extending beneath the vanity and toilet.

To complete the vanity area, we installed a custom backsplash reaching the ceiling, adding a decorative focal point. The vanity itself was a unique combination of two separate pieces, joined seamlessly with additional side cabinets for extra storage, giving the appearance of a single, cohesive unit.

Fixtures & Final Touches

The client selected Champagne Gold fixtures to add warmth and elegance throughout the space. Every detail was carefully coordinated, including:

• Matching shower, vanity, and cabinet hardware

• A stylish Champagne Gold toilet handle

• Custom-selected sconces, which the client meticulously refined through four different styles before selecting the perfect fit
